So yesterday I told you how I found Manetain India, but today I want to share the story behind the people who made it.
Honestly, it felt like a little surprise when I found out who they are. Not some big company or random celebrity, but two girls just like me, who struggled with curly hair in India.
Their names are Yuba and Hinshara. They met in a WhatsApp group—yes, a WhatsApp group—where people with curls shared their hair struggles and tips. They bonded over their crazy, frizzy, unmanageable curls and decided, “Why not make something better for us and others like us?”
Back in 2018, with just a small amount of money each (around ₹30,000), they started Manetain. From hair accessories to shampoos and gels, they built everything with curly hair care in mind, especially for Indian weather and hair types.
What I loved was how real they are. No filters, no fancy marketing. Just two women who wanted to help others like them embrace their natural curls without shame or confusion.
Reading about their journey made me feel like I’m not the only one fighting my hair battles. It made me want to keep trying, keep caring, and maybe even feel proud of my curls.
That’s what Manetain feels like now—not just products but a small community where curls matter.
