All You Need To Know
Developed by founders Hinshara and Yuba (also devout followers of Lorraine Massey’s Curly Girl Method) to fill the void of good quality CG-friendly products in India, our CG Starter Kit is the easiest way to start your curly hair journey.
Perfectly curated to make it easy for you, simply use the products as suggested and fall in love with your natural hair. Packed with some of the best natural and hair-loving ingredients, our cleansers and conditioner penetrate deep into the hair shaft to repair, restore and revitalise dry, damaged and frizzy hair. The stylers help with curl enhancement and restoration, while fighting frizz and adding shine. The accessories help by protecting your hair when drying and while you sleep.
First Wash
The first step is to wash your hair with our Clarifying Shampoo. This helps remove all buildup, product residue, grime and dirt, to reset your scalp and give you a fresh, clean start. Follow this with the Multipurpose Conditioner. Emulsify a coin-size amount of conditioner in your palms and apply it to the lengths of your dripping wet hair. Let it sit in your hair for a few minutes as you detangle. Rinse well. *Use the Clarifying Shampoo no more than twice a month.
Styling
After rinsing out the conditioner, evenly apply a small amount of Curl Cream to your hair, rake or brush for even distribution. Next, glaze the required amount of gel over the lengths of your hair using the praying hands motion. Gently scrunch. Wrap your hair in the Turban Towel for no more than a few minutes to absorb excess water. Air dry or diffuse. Shake the roots, fluff, and scrunch out the cast (SOTC) once your hair is 100% dry.
Routine Washdays
For all subsequent washes, or on days when you are not clarifying, use the Moisturising Shampoo.
Wet hair. Emulsify a small amount of shampoo in your hands and massage into your wet scalp. Rinse well. Repeat if required. Follow with the Multipurpose Conditioner. Follow the same styling routine as your first wash.
Nighttime Protection
We also recommend using the Satin Bonnet and Satin Scrunchie to keep your hair protected when you sleep.
Clarifying Shampoo
Fruit-based AHAs: Remove product build-up, hard water deposits and dirt, leading to reduced frizz and softer hair.
Aloe vera: Hydrates and soothes, aloe vera is a superhero ingredient with innumerable benefits.
Orange essential oil: Refreshes, nourishes and strengthens, leading to shinier, healthier hair.
Moisturising Shampoo
Baobab protein: Strengthens and repairs your hair and helps prevent frizz, leading to increased volume, shine and manageability.
Seaweed extract: Helps improve hair texture, reduce frizz, enhance curl definition and add shine.
Marshmallow extract: Reduces hair breakage, eases detangling, fights frizz and improves manageability.
Multipurpose Conditioner
Phytokeratin: Strengthens and repairs the hair shaft, restoring the hair’s elasticity and reducing breakage and split ends.
Argan oil: Reduces frizz and boosts shine and vibrancy.
Wavemax®: Forms a protective coating over the hair fibre, improving curl protection and curl maintenance, increasing volume and reducing frizz.
Curl Cream
Rice extract: Enhances strength and shine by fostering growth and minimising frizz, leaving hair resilient and lustrous.
Amino acids & lipids: Restore and repair, resulting in increased strength, manageability, and radiance.
Avocado oil: Moisturises, aids in detangling, and shields against environmental damage, ensuring your hair stays nourished and protected.
Volume Gel
Flaxseed & chia seed extract: Strengthens, prevents breakage and provides a natural, flexible hold. Agave nectar: Delivers deep hydration and moisture, reducing frizz and protecting against split ends for smoother, radiant hair.
Aloe vera extract: Hydrates and soothes, promoting hair growth and enhancing shine.
