All You Need To Know
Manetain Apple Cider Vinegar Rinse
Developed by founders Hinshara and Yuba, our easy-to-use ACV Rinse harnesses the power of an age-old secret for healthy hair, without the headache of preparing it at home or leaving you to tackle an unpleasant smell or residue. Crafted with the finest apple cider vinegar, our ACV rinse gently closes your hair cuticles, reducing frizz and leaving your hair irresistibly smooth and shiny. What’s more, it’s clarifying, detoxifying, and pH balancing properties mean no more dull, lifeless hair, weighed down by residue and build-up, and a soothed, healthier scalp too with reduced hair fall!
The addition of fermented rice water and glycolic acid doubles the benefits. While the fermented rice water is rich in essential amino acids, vitamins, and antioxidants that condition and detangle hair and shields hair against environmental damage, the glycolic acid, derived from natural sources like sugar cane, is a powerful exfoliating agent with a small molecular structure that allows it to penetrate deep into the scalp and hair, improving hair texture and adding shine.
*Some studies conducted using ingredients found in our ACV Rinse concluded shampoos and cleansers containing fruit-derived AHAs and glycolic acid showed enhanced smoothening, increased shine, reduced frizz, improved manageability, and significantly improved moisturisation.
**Moreover, in a double-blinded study on women with oily, odorous, and irritated scalps, it was concluded that lipoaminoacids and sugar derivatives (found in our ACV Rinse) showed a 100% reduction in oiliness as well as a considerable reduction in dandruff. Additional benefits included a reduction in odour, itching, and irritation.
Step 1: Apply an adequate amount of the ACV Rinse to both scalp and hair after shampooing and before you apply your conditioner.
Step 2: Let it sit for two to four minutes before rinsing both hair and scalp thoroughly.
Step 3: Follow with any of our conditioners.

Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) : Universally known as a miracle ingredient with multiple health and beauty benefits, apple cider vinegar (ACV) is excellent for controlling frizz and smoothening hair. When used as a rinse after shampooing, the acidity of ACV helps to smooth the hair’s outer cuticle layer, thus reducing frizz, making the hair appear smoother and shinier, and locking in moisture. ACV also helps to balance the pH level of the scalp, thereby promoting scalp health and reducing hair fall. Its natural antibacterial and anti-fungal properties also help soothe irritations and itchiness.

Fermented Rice Water : Fermented rice water is rich in essential amino acids, vitamins, and antioxidants that condition and detangle hair. It shields hair against heat and environmental damage while promoting hair growth, restoring damage, and adding shine. The fermentation process enhances the availability of nutrients, making it a potent ingredient for hair care.

Glycolic Acid : Glycolic acid, derived from natural sources like sugar cane, is a powerful exfoliating agent with a small molecular structure that allows it to penetrate deep into the skin and hair. It helps increase intracellular efficiency, thus increasing the production of important skin and hair proteins. Glycolic acid improves hair texture, adds moisture and shine, and supports overall scalp health by providing effective exfoliation.
Can this be used by all hair types?
Yes, the ACV Rinse is suitable for people of all hair types.
Is the product safe for children?
No, the ACV Rinse is not recommended for children.
When should I use the ACV Rinse?
We recommend using it every other week after you shampoo your hair and before you apply your conditioner.
Is the ACV Rinse colour-safe?
Yes.

I have dermatitis/a sensitive scalp; can I still use the ACV Rinse?
While the ACV Rinse does have anti-fungal and antibacterial properties that might help with scalp issues as well as promote beneficial bacteria, Manetain does not make medicated products, and we do recommend consulting a doctor before using our products if you have existing scalp issues.
